Choosing a driving instructor

Learning to drive is an expensive business, so it makes sense to be picky when choosing your driving school. One of the best ways to find a good school is by way of recommendation. Try to find out if any of your friends or relatives have recently -or are currently in the process of learning to drive. What do they think of their driving school? If they are satisfied with the service provided, it makes sense to consider going with the same instructor or school.

When booking your driving lessons you should bear in mind that cheapest isn't always best. Many cheaper driving schools use trainee instructors with little or no experience. So although you might be paying less per lesson, you'll probably end up needing many more lessons with them than with a more experienced instructor. It always makes sense to ask if your driving instructor is fully qualified before booking driving lessons with him or her.

Many driving schools offer good introductory deals, or discounts on block bookings of 10 or more driving lessons. Some schools also offer 5-10% off the regular lesson price for students, unemployed and NHS staff. Always find out the discounts available before booking your lessons to make sure you get the best deal.
